Training will be delivered via workshops across the topics of customer service, personal development, business savvy, and general knowledge of the region, with the webinar posted after each workshop.
Topics include; creating first impressions, body language, overcoming objections, touch- points and moments of truth, values/ethics, goal setting, health, self-motivation, time management, basic accounting, value of the returning customer, brand & values, and overall business acumen.
Information on activities across the district, the key industries and what we are world-famous for is also part of the programme. This will assist front-line staff to encourage customers to stay longer and spend more in our local economy.

There will be one winner of the Innovation in Customer Experience Award.
Innovation Finalists will be independently selected on the basis of their application.
The Innovation Winner will be selected after a site visit where an independent panel can see and experience the innovative concept.

Entry is open to individuals or teams working in the Taupo, Turangi and Mangakino areas, and it is free to attend the workshops.
Everyone must register as an entrant by Friday, 18 May 2018, by completing the form below. Participants may enter as an individual Star Performer or as a Stella Team.
The Star Performer awards were created to honour top performing employees. Business owners and partners should encourage their super star staff to enter, but should not enter themselves. If you are a Sole Trader, the Star Performer category is also for you.
Business Teams must have a minimum of 2 members. All team members are welcome and encouraged to attend the workshops, but you can also share this responsibility.
Attendance at the workshops is an essential part of the Awards programme. Each Star Performer must attend 3 of the 4 workshops to be considered as a finalist. At least one member of each Stella Team must attend all 4 of the workshops. Once you've completed your entry form, please RSVP to the workshops.

Applications for each of the awards are due on Monday, 2 July 2018 after the workshop series has finished. You can certainly start drafting your application now, but both the Team and Star Performer applications have questions that relate to the content learned in the workshops.

Outstanding businesses celebrated at the 2018 Gala Dinner
Written by Super UserOh what a night is was! Through cheers and tears, amazing Taupo businesses were celebrated at the 2018 Spark Stella Awards gala dinner.
As noted on the night, judges said the caliber of entrants was very high and the competition fierce. As winners accepted their beautiful trophies, the crowd were gracious in their support, even from those who didn't take the stage.
Andrew Mulligan brought the laughs, the food was super tasty, attendees feasted on the doughnut wall and lolly table, and the party went until midnight on the dance floor as The Blind Venetians rolled out tune after tune.
Congratulations to all the winners! You have done Taupo proud!!
